Early morning shooting at an Indianapolis bar kills 1 person and injures 5, report says
Indianapolis (AP) A shooting at an Indianapolis bar early Saturday morning killed one person and injured five others, according to a news report.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department Commander Matthew Thomas confirmed the death and injuries sustained by the other victims as a consequence of the shooting shortly before 1:30 a.m.
According to Thomas, five patients were brought to nearby hospitals by emergency personnel, while the sixth went to a hospital on their own following the shooting at Landsharks on Broad Ripple Avenue.
No one was arrested right away, and the police withheld information about the shooting’s circumstances and any suspects’ descriptions for a while.
Police then discovered that a sixth gunshot victim from the incident had driven himself to a local hospital.
As of Saturday morning, police had no suspects in custody, Thomas informed reporters. It’s unknown who fired the shot and what prompted the shooting.
According to Thomas, “all it takes is one person with a gun and a bad attitude to ruin the fun and peace that is normally enjoyed by all of our visitors.”
Authorities are interviewing witnesses on Saturday and looking into the incident’s camera footage. “It’s very early in the investigation,” Thomas stated.
