Ten Million Dollars in just 24 hours raised by Biden’s campaign!
U.S. President Joe Biden delivers the State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, U.S., on March 7, 2024.
WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden’s re-election camp announced on Sunday that it raised $10 million in a matter of hours following his scathing State of the Union address, in which he accused Donald Trump of jeopardizing democracy and torpedoing a package to solve the country’s immigration issues.
In a 68-minute speech to Congress on Thursday, Biden also accused Trump, his Republican opponent in the November. 5 election, of concealing the truth about the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the United States Congress and bowing to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The amount of money raised is noteworthy because, in January alone, the Biden campaign and its Democratic Party supporters raised almost $42 million.
According to Nielsen statistics from 14 television networks, roughly 32.2 million people watched Biden’s State of the Union speech, up 18% over the previous year. This did not include viewers from streaming, social media, or other channels.
Leaning into its financial advantage, the Biden team launched a $30 million ad blitz on Saturday that will target crucial swing states over the coming six weeks.
According to a February Reuters/Ipsos poll, Biden and Trump are still neck and neck in the race for the White House, with 37% supporting the former president and 34% supporting Biden.
